Katie Finneran won her second Tony Award for her hilarious portrayal of a drunken barfly in the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises at the 2010 Tony Awards.
While accepting the trophy for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Finneran thanked her friends and family (“They’re all in the rafters!”), co-star Kristin Chenoweth (“Who loaned me her eyelashes tonight.”) and Sean Hayes (“The best scene partner ever.”) and made a passionate plea for kids watching on TV to follow their dreams.
She also dedicated the award to Darren Goldstein, the actor who recently became her fiance. “[He] asked me to marry him, and the next week Angela Lansbury took me to Joe Allen’s for dinner!” Finneran beat Lansbury in the category for her performance in A Little Night Music.
Finneran previously won a Tony in 2002 for the play Noises Off.
